The way feedburner works is that its scan the blog and when it detects a new post, it will send that post in an email to everyone who has subscribed. The default timing of the Feedburner is usually around midnight. This means if you publish a new blog post at 3pm on Thursday, the parents wont get it delivered to their inbox until after midnight. I like to change the delivery time to about 5-7pm. As a teacher, I would always make a new post before I leave for the day. As a parent, I like to get the posts around dinner time, or before the kids are in bed.
Here is how to change the Feedburner settings:
- You need to have the feed set up first (This means adding the subcription button to your blog). See this post for help doing that.
- Go to http://feedburner.com and Log in with your username@educbe.ca account. If you are already logged into Google, it will take you to your Feedburner account. You should see your blog name in the list of Feed Titles. Click on the appropriate Feed Title.

- Once you have opened your Feed Settings, open the Publicize tab.

- Then open on the Email Subscription options.
- Click on Delivery Options to adjust the time that your subscribers get new posts delivered.

- Adjust the times to suit.
- Your Feedburner delivery options are now updated.
- Now it might be a good idea to email your parents (using School Messenger) with a reminder to visit the blog and to also subscribe by email 👍 so that all new posts go right to their email inbox.
